Pub Street: Siem Reap's Neon Heart
THE VIBE
Loud, neon-lit, and packed with energy. The epicenter of nightlife.
THE COST
Incredibly cheap. $0.50 draft beers and $1.50 cocktails are the norm.
THE HOURS
Alive from 6 PM to 3 AM. The party peaks around 10 PM.
After a long day exploring the ancient temples, there is one place every traveler goes to unwind: Pub Street (Street 08). It is a dazzling, chaotic, and incredibly fun hub of bars, clubs, and restaurants that proves Siem Reap isn't just about old stones—it knows how to party, too.
The Highlights
The $0.50 Beer
This is legendary. Almost every bar offers ice-cold draft beer (usually Anchor or Cambodia Beer) for just 50 cents. It is cheaper than water!
The Red Piano
This iconic corner restaurant is famous for being Angelina Jolie's favorite spot while filming Tomb Raider. Try her signature "Tomb Raider Cocktail" (Cointreau, lime, and tonic).
Temple Club
If you want to dance, this is the spot. As the night goes on, the music gets louder, and the party often spills out onto the street.
$2 Foot Massage
Lining the streets are dozens of massage shops. After walking 20,000 steps at Angkor Wat, a 30-minute foot massage while watching the crowds pass by is heaven.
Fried Bugs
Look for the mobile carts selling spiders, scorpions, and snakes. It costs $1 to take a photo, or you can buy one to eat if you are brave!
The Alleys
Pro Tip: If the main street is too loud, duck into "The Lane" or "Alley West." These narrow alleys are filled with quieter, high-quality restaurants and art galleries.
Survival Guide
- Tuk-Tuks: Always agree on the price *before* you get in. A ride back to your hotel should be $2-$3 max within the city.
- Pickpockets: Pub Street is safe, but it is crowded. Keep your phone and wallet in your front pockets or a secure bag.
- Ice: The ice in bars and restaurants on Pub Street is generally safe (made in factories), so don't worry about your cocktails!
