The Cambodian coast is one of the most beautiful and relaxing places to visit in Southeast Asia. From the French colonial heritage of the country to its unspoiled tropical islands, Cambodia has something for everyone. With nearly 300 miles of coastline, Cambodia is also dotted with dozens of islands, each with its own unique characteristics and attractions. From beautiful beaches to traditional fishing ceremonies, the Cambodian coast has it all.

Saracen Bay, Koh Rong Samloem, is one of the most remote and pristine beaches in Cambodia. Once a sleepy fishing village, the bay is now a tourist destination, with beachfront accommodations and a small town. There are also plenty of activities to keep visitors occupied, including the bamboo train, excellent cuisine, and water swings and hammocks.

Kep Beach

The small, quiet town of Kep is another great beach destination in Cambodia. Here, visitors can relax in the sun, explore the French colonial heritage, and enjoy traditional dances, including a glimpse of a traditional wedding ceremony. Nearby Kampot also offers plenty of activities, from visiting a royal palace to tucking into Cambodian street food.

For a more remote experience, visitors can head to Otres Beach in Sihanoukville. This stretch of beach is only a few minutes from downtown and offers cleaner and clearer water than other beaches in the area. Ream Beach, located in Ream National Park, is another great option for those seeking a more secluded experience. This large nature preserve includes a long stretch of raw beach and a few tiny, family-run beach cafés.

Finally, visitors can check out Sner Beach in the province of Koh Kong. This beach offers a unique experience, as it’s not a popular destination for international visitors. It’s an ideal spot to sample some of the freshest seafood cooked on the beach barbecue pits. Other nearby beaches include Koh Russey and Koh Ta Kiev.
