Mountain Jungles & Fresh Air
Why We Loved Ou Choam
Samlot was once a very remote and difficult-to-access region. Today, it has become a "Natural Resort" where families go to swim in the cool, clear water that flows directly from the mountains. Ou Choam is special because it is tucked further into the forest than the main durian farms.
Forest Hiking
The waterfall has several levels. The higher you climb, the more peaceful and secluded the pools become.
Mountain Water
The water here is incredibly refreshing. It stays cool even during the peak of the dry season!
Hammock Life
There are simple bamboo huts (salas) available for rent. It is the perfect place to hang a hammock and nap to the sound of the falls.
💡 Local Insider Tips
1. The Drive: The road from Battambang is beautiful but long. Ensure your motorbike or car is in good condition, as there are steep sections as you approach the Samlot hills.
2. History: Samlot was one of the last areas to see peace in the late 1990s. The locals here are incredibly proud of their forest—please help them protect it by taking all your trash back with you.
3. Combined Trip: We highly recommend visiting the Samlot Durian Farms on your way back to town to buy the best fruit in Cambodia!
