Koh Pen Bamboo Bridge
The world's longest bamboo bridge connecting the city to Koh Pen island. It is rebuilt every year after the rainy season.
Only exists in the dry season! In the wet season, you must take a ferry. Great for a sunset walk.
Located just south of the main Kizuna bridge. You can walk there from the riverfront park.
Wat Nokor Bachey
A unique 'fusion temple.' A colorful modern Buddhist pagoda has been built literally inside the walls of a 12th-century Angkorian ruin.
Look for the ancient sandstone carvings that are now painted over in bright colors—a mix of old and new.
Located 2km west of the city on the road to Phnom Penh.
Phnom Pros & Phnom Srei
The 'Man and Woman Mountains.' Legend says men and women competed to build the highest stupa before sunrise. The women won.
Phnom Pros has many monkeys—keep your distance. Phnom Srei (the higher one) offers a better view but requires a hike.
Located 7km west of town. You will see the two hills on the right side of the highway.
Wat Hanchey
A hilltop temple complex offering the absolute best panoramic view of the Mekong River in Cambodia. Features Chenla-era brick sanctuaries.
The road there follows the river and is very scenic. There are colorful statues of animals and fruits in the gardens.

Preah Theat Teuk Chha
A massive ancient temple complex and artificial reservoir dating back to 1025 AD. It is surrounded by lush forest and features a 'Leaning Tower' brick sanctuary.
The reservoir is a great swimming spot for locals. Bring a towel if you want to cool off in the holy water!
Located 39km from Kampong Cham city. The road is scenic but can be tricky; using Google Maps GPS is essential.
Cheung Kok Ecotourism Village
A charming village supported by the NGO AMICA. You can see silk weaving, palm sugar making, and traditional farming. It is a perfect example of community-based tourism.
Buy the 'Krama' (scarves) here. The quality is higher than the markets, and 100% of the money goes to the women makers.
Located just near Phnom Pros/Phnom Srei. Look for the small wooden sign on the main highway.
Kampong Cham Night Market
Come evening, the riverfront transforms. Explore stalls selling clothes and souvenirs, but the real highlight is the street food carts serving hot pot and grilled skewers.
Sit on the mats on the grass near the riverbank, order a beer and some grilled beef, and people-watch like a local.
Located along the riverfront park in the city center. Opens around 5:00 PM.
