Chamkar Mien: The River & The Longans

If you want to know what a real Cambodian weekend looks like, forget the swimming pools in town and head to Chamkar Mien. Located in the Treng area, this working longan fruit farm opens its gates for swimming, BBQ, and relaxing by the cool mountain water.

The Chamkar Mien Experience

The concept is simple: you pay a small fee to enter the farm. Inside, the Sangker River flows directly through the fruit trees. The water here is much cleaner and cooler than in the city because it flows down from the Cardamom Mountains.

🏊 The Natural Pool

The river here is shallow and wide, making it perfect for swimming. Kids love jumping from the rocks, while adults relax in the water with a cold beer.

🛖 Bamboo Huts

Along the riverbank, there are bamboo platforms (kiosks) for rent. It is the perfect base to leave your bags, set up your food, and nap in a hammock.

🍗 DIY BBQ

This is not a restaurant! While some vendors sell snacks, the best way to enjoy Chamkar Mien is to bring your own grill, meat, and cooler box.

💡 The "Treng Chicken" Secret

If you don't want to cook, stop at the Treng Market just before you reach the farm. This area is famous for Roasted Chicken (Moan Ang). Grab a whole chicken and some sticky rice to take with you to the river!
